Dopo una gavetta durante la quale hanno pubblicato una manciata di singoli e alcuni EP, fanno il loro esordio nel 2021 con “New long leg” (posizionatosi al numero 4 nell classifiche di vendita UK) con cui conquistano e convincono proprio tutti, dimostrandosi come una delle nuove e più allettanti realtà musicali del Regno Unito. Nel 2022 pubblicano via 4AD il riuscitissimo “Stumpwork”, la dimostrazione che la formula funziona, e come: tappeti sonori su cui si adagia in maniera egregia il cantato, o meglio, il parlato della carsimatica Florence Shaw, E’ l’album che li caratterizza e che allo stesso tempo toglie loro ogni etichetta di genere: un lavoro di ampia portata, dalle liriche impegnate e con suoni audaci. A marzo 2023 è uscito il loro nuovo EP, “Swampy” con 5 tracce, i recenti singoli “Swampy” e “Sombre Two”, una demo della canzone “Peanuts” ed i remix di Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul e Nourished By Time. Una grandissima band che dal vivo, grazie soprattutto al flusso ipnotico di parole della cantante, ti seduce canzone dopo canzone in grado di toccanre le corde più irrazionali dell’ascoltatore.

After a period of apprenticeship when they published a bunch of singles and some EPs, they debuted in 2021 with “New long leg” (n. 4 in the UK charts) , impressing pretty much everyone and coming to the fore as one of Britain’s most exciting new musical exports. In 2022 they publish on 4AD the excellent “Stumpwork”, demonstrating that their fomula works, and how: sound landscapes where the singing – or better, talking – of charismatic front woman Florence Shaw gently falls. This is the album that defines and at the same times removes all labels: a wide ranging work, with important lyrics and bold sounds. The new EP, “Swampy” , came out in March 2023, featuring 5 new track: recent singles “Swampy” and “Sombre Two”, a demo of the song “Peanuts” and remixes by Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul e Nourished By Time. A fantastic band which live, thanks especially to the hypnotic stream of consciousness of its singer, seduces the listener song after song, by touching our most irrational chords.

Ipnotici e non convenzionali, un sound istrionico che si insidia sotto pelle e che combina post-punk, rock lo-fi, kraut-rock e psych. Le loro performance sono delle vere e proprie esperienze visive oltre che sonore, grazie alle collaborazioni con artisti visuali, stilisti e fotografi.

Il concerto è in collaborazione con Kino Siska, incubatore culturale che accoglie con la stessa visione di Sexto ‘Nplugged musica e arte a Lubiana, città mitteleuropea con fermento artistico e di estrema bellezza. 

balans sono una band di Lubiana , in Slovenia , che produce musica dal 2013. Il loro primo concerto si è tenuto a Umago , in Croazia , alla prima edizione del festival Indirekt. Dal 2016 collaborano con l’artista contemporaneo italiano Alessandro di Giampietro, con il quale presentano al pubblico un’esperienza di concerto audiovisivo.

Hypnotic and unconventional, a histrionic sound that lurks under the skin and combines post-punk, lo-fi rock, Kraut-rock and psych. Their performances are real visual and sound experiences, thanks to collaborations with visual artists, designers and photographers.

The concert is in collaboration with Kino Siska, cultural incubator that welcomes with the same vision of Sexto ‘Nplugged music and art in Ljubljana, Central European city with artistic ferment and extreme beauty. 

balans are a band from Ljubljana , in Slovenia , which has been producing music since 2013. Their first concert was held in Umag , in Croatia , at the first edition of the festival Indirekt. Since 2016 they have been collaborating with the Italian contemporary artist Alessandro di Giampietro, with whom they present an audiovisual concert experience to the public.
